2025 NC Association of Municipal Attorney's Summer Conference

July 31 - August 3 | Renaissance Asheville Downtown Hotel

We are excited to invite you to the 2025 NC Association of Municipal Attorney's (NCAMA) Summer Conference that will take place at the Renaissance Asheville Hotel in scenic and historic downtown Asheville, North Carolina.

Letter from the President

Dear NC Association of Municipal Attorneys Members:

Welcome to our 2025 summer conference! We will accomplish a lot during this conference, and we will have lots of fun too.  Please note that we will have a few special events this year:

•    Thursday dinner & drinks special event. The law firm of Allen Stahl + Kilbourne invites you to mix & mingle over food and drinks.  Registration is limited to the first 80 registrants.  Additional event details will come at a later date, directly from the law firm.
•    Friday lunch at the Green Man Brewery.
•    Friday afternoon volunteer opportunity at Western Carolina Rescue Ministries.

To our newer members or first-time attendees, welcome! Please don’t hesitate to say hello and get to know your colleagues. These are the folks who understand just how unpredictable municipal law can be, and how rewarding it truly is. I encourage everyone to join your friends, mentors, colleagues, and fellow servants and get involved with our Association.

Our Nominating Committee will meet prior to the conference to prepare its recommended candidates for the new slate of officers. We will elect Officers and Directors to our Board of Directors. The membership will vote on this slate during our Saturday business meeting. If you would like to be considered for a board position, please forward your name to the Committee Chair, Meredith Everhart at Meredith.Everhart@wilmingtonnc.gov or contact me at kolczynv@concordnc.gov.

We will close out the conference with our “Saturday Soiree.” The Saturday Soiree will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres and a celebration of our Board of Directors.  If you have a nomination for the Ernest H. Ball – Frayda S. Bluestein Award for Excellence in Municipal Law, please email Jennifer Schneier.

I look forward to seeing you soon.

Sincerely,
VaLerie Kolczynski
NCAMA President
City Attorney, City of Concord
